At the last possible second, Sharice’s opponent is trying to run away from his extreme stance on abortion rights. It’s so outlandish that, frankly, it’s insulting the voters’ intelligence that he thinks it will work, and we can’t let him get away with it.
In a new TV ad, our opponent, Prasanth Reddy, tries to frame his position on abortion rights as being in the best interest of women. But here’s the truth that he’s hoping the voters won’t pick up on: Reddy’s campaign is financed by some of the most extreme anti-abortion PACs in the country — PACs that have made clear their agenda is to ban abortion in all 50 states. Reddy is also coordinating his campaign with the Kansas GOP — a party with an anti-abortion platform so extreme, it would eliminate IVF access if it were implemented. Recently, the Johnson County GOP — which has enthusiastically endorsed Reddy — commented on Reddy’s Facebook page that abortion bans should include no exceptions for the life of the mother. Reddy left this comment up and did not contradict it. Finally, when Reddy tries to frame his extreme agenda as a “states’ rights position,” what he is really saying is that in Congress he would oppose legislation restoring Roe v. Wade protections for women. Sharice Davids would vote in favor. Thanks so much, Mohona Chowdhury |
