Working Families Party

Dear John,

It’s Mark Ruffalo, and I’m reaching out to you because we have just 19 days left to get out the vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz as the next president and vice president of the United States, and with democracy, justice, bodily autonomy, and our futures at stake, we must rise to meet this moment with heroic courage.

By now, you might have heard about Trump’s dangerous Project 2025 plan that, if implemented, would give him unchecked powers to eliminate abortion access, hurt working- and middle-class people, fire civil servants, eliminate Social Security and Medicare, and roll back our rights and freedoms. But the truth is, there are still too many people across the country that don’t know about the ominous Project 2025 and its acute threat to our individual and collective rights and freedoms.

That’s why I’m joining forces with Working Families Party, MoveOn, We Stand United, the Sierra Club and Communication Workers of America (CWA).

Will you join on Sunday and invite three friends for a call about our game plan to elect progressives up and down the ballot, defeat Donald Trump and his MAGA Republicans this election, and stop Project 2025?

United to Block Project 2025 Community Call. Sunday, October 20, 8 PM ET. Hosted by Working Families Party, MoveOn, We Stand United. Featuring Maurice Mitchell, Rahna Epting, Mark Ruffalo, and more guests! Photos of guests.

Vice President Kamala Harris has a proven track record of tirelessly advocating for and fighting for our communities and freedoms. She’s fought to raise the minimum wage, protect our voting rights, reform the cash bail system, expand access to health care, hold sexual abusers accountable, protect our reproductive freedom and bodily autonomy, protect the LGBTQIA+ community, and so much more.

Trump, on the other hand, has a track record of inciting the deadly white supremacist-led January 6 insurrection, attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election, packing the Supreme Court with MAGA Republican judges who have stripped away our freedoms and bodily autonomy over and over again, giving tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations, praising neo-Nazis, hurling racist, sexist, Islamophobic, antisemitic, homophobic, and transphobic attacks, and more.

And now, Trump is trying to distance himself from Project 2025 by claiming to not know anything about it or who’s behind it. That is a lie. Many members of Trump's former administration and Trump allies are involved with Project 2025, and in 2022, when talking about the Heritage Foundation, Trump said, "This is a great group, and they're going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do when the American people give us a colossal mandate to save America."

John, we can’t let Project 2025 become a reality. So we must come together now before it’s too late. During this call, we will learn more about the extreme Project 2025 agenda, our plan to defeat it, and learn how WFP members like you and progressive partners can and will make the difference over the next couple of weeks.

Click here to RSVP to join me, Working Families Party National Director Maurice Mitchell, MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting, Sierra Club Executive Director Ben Jealous, and Communication Workers of America President Claude Cummings on Sunday October 20 at 8 p.m. ET (7 CT/6 MT/5 PT) and then send this to three friends so they can join us too.

Thanks for all you do.

— Mark Ruffalo, actor and activist
