The latest on what's happening with right-of-center women Weekly Wrap October 18, 2024 This Week's Highlights Monday WFW AF-backed Laurie Buckhout (NC-01) will not be outworked in her quest to flip her state's only competitive House district this cycle. In conversations with voters, Buckhout is honing in on the economic concerns she's heard from many people in eastern North Carolina: "They want to be able to go to the grocery store and get decent prices. They want to be able to buy their kids school clothes — and, right now, they just can’t do all that, so they’re digging into savings." Tuesday In the Senate, Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) has led the effort to stop China from buying American farmland and spying on Americans. In a TV ad approved by her campaign, the sheriff of the state's largest county discusses the importance of Fischer's leadership on China, border security, and support for law enforcement. Wednesday In her second debate against liberal Democrat Pat Ryan, WFW AF-backed Alison Esposito (NY-18) did not hold back in drawing contrasts on important policy issues like crime and public safety. As a 25-year-veteran of the NYPD herself, she has seen firsthand what defund-the-police extremists have done to hinder law enforcement. Thursday In OR-05, Rep Lori Chavez-DeRemer had the stage to herself after her opponent declined to participate in a debate hosted by Portland's ABC affiliate. Chavez-DeRemer used her time to address the top issues that voters tell her they care about: rising prices and public safety.
