Happy Friday! It’s been yet another busy week for me and my team as we travelled the district and country. I joined Congresswoman Emilia Sykes’ conference today in Ohio to honor the legacy of Sojourner Truth and support Black women in leadership. Next week, I’m looking forward to hosting two hiring events in Danville and South Holland. I hope to see you there!

Protect Letter Carriers from Gun Violence

This week, I joined the National Association of Letter Carriers to discuss better working conditions and safety. We all honored the life of Octavia Redmond, a letter carrier who was shot and killed this past summer while on her route. While letter carriers face rain, snow, and hail to deliver mail, they should never face a gun. I’m committed to protecting letter carriers’ lives.

Medicare Open Enrollment Has Begun

Democrats strengthened Medicare and lowered prescription drug costs for seniors. In 2025, seniors won’t have to pay more than $2,000 a year for out-of-pocket prescription drug costs, and they can diffuse those charges over the year. Due to these changes, 43,000 district residents will save $15.2 million next year.

Don’t wait to get the coverage you need. Medicare Open Enrollment has already begun and runs until December 7. Visit medicare.gov to get started.
