John, I’m reaching out about the most strategic donation you can make in the 18 days left before Election Day.
I’m sure you’re hearing from a ton of campaigns and causes right now – but I’m not asking for more money that’ll go to expensive consultants or buying the fifth ad slot on the local news.
Instead, I’m asking if you’ll cut through the noise and make a direct pro-voter impact by sponsoring an Election Protection volunteer today.
From the first primary all the way to Election Day and beyond: whenever and wherever voters face suppression at the polls – our trained volunteers are in the field and ready to help. Common Cause has already invested serious time and resources to recruit and train these pro-voter advocates. Each volunteer is capable of assisting dozens of voters in just a single shift, making all the difference between a voter casting their ballot or going home disappointed.
I’ll be candid, John: we have just a few weeks left to decide the scale of our Election Protection 2024 effort. And unfortunately, our funding is behind where it’ll need to be if we want to go as big as we’re planning. But we won’t back down.
There’s so much at stake this November. And we’re not the only people who know this. Groups of wealthy megadonors have already spent over one billion dollars in outside spending this election (that’s nearly double what was spent in 2020).[1]
We can’t match these special interest spenders dollar for dollar, but fortunately we don’t have to. That’s because we’ve streamlined our nonpartisan volunteer program to stretch ever last dollar as far as it can possibly go – crunching data to identify polling sites where voters will need us most, and working with local partners to cover all our bases.
Sponsoring a volunteer is the most effective donation you can make at this point in the cycle. Your donation will make a direct impact on at-risk voters casting their ballot, participating in our democracy, and building trust in our government.
It costs $50 to train and place an Election Protection volunteer. Will you chip in $50 – or whatever you can – to help us support voters casting their ballots this November?
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
We’re deeply invested in training volunteers on the state-by-state rules around elections. And with hundreds of new volunteers signing up every day, we'll need to train and place them with voters.
Thanks for your continued support,
Elena Nunez, Senior Vice President of State Operations
and the team at Common Cause
