Dear Friends,
Medicare Open Enrollment has started! Now through December 7th, seniors can compare Medicare plans and find the right one for health and prescription drug coverage. Visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-633-4227 to enroll today.
In Congress, we passed the Inflation Reduction Act to strengthen Medicare and lower the cost of prescription drugs. Because of this new law, Medicare plans for 2025 will offer:
- A $35 per month cap on insulin co-pays
- Recommended vaccines at no cost, including shingles and COVID-19
- A $2,000 per year cap on out-of-pocket drug costs
- Extra Help with prescriptions for seniors earning less than 150% of the federal poverty level
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare can now directly negotiate the cost of some of the most commonly used prescriptions with pharmaceutical companies. These reforms will mean lower costs at the pharmacy for seniors. Now, I’m cosponsoring legislation to extend these savings to Americans on private insurance.
