Dear John,

We are proud to announce that MPAC will recognize Krystal Ball with an Empowering Voices Award on Wednesday, November 13, at the Hyatt Regency Tysons Corner Center. As a leading voice in political commentary and co-host of the anti-establishment podcast and YouTube show, Breaking Points, Krystal has consistently challenged corporate media narratives, advocating for independent journalism that prioritizes truth and transparency.

Earlier this year, Krystal hosted MPAC President Salam Al-Marayati on Breaking Points, where he discussed the increasing hate and discrimination facing the many courageous students advocating for Palestine. During the segment, we also announced the timely launch of MPAC's Bureau of Academic Freedom to ensure that the rights of our students are respected and upheld. Krystal’s willingness to provide space for diverse perspectives is critical as we continue to shed light on the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the global marginalization of those who stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

As we continue to watch politicians and media outlets discount the lives of Palestinians on the world stage–with no accountability in sight–Krystal’s work in promoting fair and unbiased journalism serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of independent media in upholding the principles of democracy and the protection of human rights.

We hope you will join us on Wednesday, November 13 as we recognize the many visionary leaders, courageous journalists, and steadfast advocates who stand committed to creating a more just and equitable world for all.
