Whether you are a new member and want to learn more about DSA and democratic socialism or an existing member that would like a refresher, please join us! We will be discussing what democratic socialism is and DSA’s politics and vision - and most importantly, how you can become involved in our chapter! August General Membership Meeting

 
At our August General Membership meeting, we will get a report back from our National Convention delegates, hear committee updates, discuss new business, and more!

At all meetings, we adhere to the DSA "Rules for Respectful Discussion" to ensure an inclusive conversation where all voices are heard. You can read more about these guidelines here.

Housing Committee Meeting

 
Join the Housing Committee to determine how we can implement a socialist housing policy in Sacramento, and build a strong grassroots tenants' movement to collectively advocate for our own needs. We will also discuss the significance of housing to the greater movement for socialism.

Housing is a human right! Let's demand a new system that allows everyone to live with dignity, and helps communities thrive.

Dan Kovalik: The Plot to Overthrow Venezuela

 
Join the International Committee to attend a talk by author and activist Dan Kovalik about his new book, The Plot to Overthrow Venezuela. He will include his insights into the CIA’s history of interference throughout Latin America, followed by discussion/questions. The talk will take place in the Southside Park Co-Housing Common House.

Medicare For All Rally - Matsui's Office

 
Join us for a rally where we will gather and show Congresswoman Doris Matsui that Medicare for All is a major issue for her constituents, and that it has a lot of support in her district.

Rallies are a great opportunity for us to show up and make our voices heard in our community.

Night of Solidarity with Brazil’s Landless Workers Movement

 
Sacramento DSA International Committee is hosting a free screening of SonoFed Productions film “Landless” about the struggles of the Landless Worker’s Movement (MST) of Brazil, followed by a discussion with a member of the Bay Area Friends of the MST. We will have a raffle with books and other prizes to fundraise for Friends of the MST.
