Our second episode is titled Black Jobs & Economics. With our guests, we dive into the disparities of our modern economy and the struggles that come with it for Black communities to thrive.

Bronzeville, also known as the Black Metropolis on Chicago's South Side, thrived during the Great Migration and contributed heavily to the prosperous Black middle class. However, that success was purposely disrupted and destroyed by white supremacy and we continue to see the ripple effects today.

In 2019, the median white family had around $184,000 in wealth in 2019 while the median Black family had just $23,000. Now, the wealth of the 400 richest American billionaires exceeds that of all 10 million Black American households combined.

So what’s left for us to do? How can we navigate our modern economy and play catch-up at the same time?

Tune in to our discussion about the financial disparities Black people continue to face and the solutions that can help put the power back into our communities.

— Black Lives Matter

Our grassroots movement is pushing for Black liberation every single day. We are striving to create a world where Black people do so much more than just survive. It’s time we thrive.

As an organization one of our biggest hurdles is consistency.

A recurring contribution of anything you can afford goes a long way as we plan for the months, years, and even decades ahead. This is the most effective way for small-dollar donors (like you) to power our Black liberation work.

Will you make a recurring contribution of $5 or more today so that we can keep building momentum for our movement?
