Hi there, it’s VA State Senator Ghazala Hashmi, the Democratic candidate running for Lt. Governor of Virginia in 2025.
One reason I’m running for LG is because Republican obstruction in Richmond has led to a government that lacks compassion.
A GOP that doesn’t care about the safety of our communities, the ability of families to have affordable housing and safe neighborhoods, or the structure of our democracy.
The Republicans in Richmond care about one thing: Firing up their own base by attacking vulnerable communities, destabilizing the economic strength of the middle class, and retaining power.
I know the many barriers Virginians face trying to create a better life for themselves and their families — because I’ve lived some of them myself, because I’ve spoken directly with people across our state, and because I listen.
As Lt. Governor, I will bring compassionate progressivism to the office, lift up marginalized communities, and give everyone an equal shot to thrive.
That’s what’s missing from our leadership right now – and with your help, we can bring it back. I’m humbly asking for your support today: Can you make a contribution of $20 or more to help me restore compassion to Richmond? [[link removed]]
