John, I’ve always said, working hard is not enough when you’re not earning enough.
It’s been 18 years since North Carolina last raised the minimum wage. Back in 2006, we fought tooth and nail just to increase it by one dollar. That’s right—a whole decade of fighting for a $1 raise.
While workers in other states have seen their wages rise over time, North Carolinians are still stuck at the federal minimum wage, despite the rising cost of living.
I fought and sponsored the 2006 minimum wage increase, and I still continue to fight for fair wages in Congress.
I’ve spent my career standing up for workers, but we won’t see real progress unless we elect leaders who believe in fair wages. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and I need your help to keep fighting.
With early voting starting today, can you chip in whatever you can afford so we have the resources to continue our voter outreach efforts and advocate for a fair wage?
