Hi John,

We’re in the final stretch of this election, with ballots just getting sent out and hitting your mailboxes soon! Before you cast your vote, we want to make sure that you have all the resources to know who you’re voting for. Due to limited organizational capacity, OLCV is not able to conduct a full endorsement process for candidates running in local races. That’s why we’ve created the Environmental Voter Guide [[link removed]], to provide voters with local candidates answers to questions relating to environmental justice and climate action. Check out the 2024 Environmental Voter Guide here: [link removed]

OLCV is dedicated to ensuring that voters are able to make informed decisions about who to vote for and know what candidates share their values, at every level of government. This is why we’ve worked hard to provide you with not only our official endorsements, but also with our Environmental Voter Guide [[link removed]]! Please note that the Environmental Voter Guide is not an official OLCV endorsement, but instead highlights candidates who could not apply for an endorsement. Candidates are given the opportunity to share their environmental values and priorities for voters by answering these two questions:
1. What are your top two environmental priorities, and what steps do you plan to take to address them?
2. What does 'environmental justice' mean to you? And how will your understanding of environmental justice impact your priorities if elected?

If you want to know more about where the candidates in your area stand on environmental justice, read their answers here: [link removed]
It’s powerful to make an informed vote for a candidate who you know shares your values of environmental justice and climate action. Your vote determines the future of our state. Make sure you know your candidates before you fill out your ballot by November 5th.

Regardless of what happens this election at the federal level, we need to make sure Oregon elects candidates who are committed to climate action and environmental justice. Vote for a healthy, climate-safe, and just Oregon by reading about your candidates today! [[link removed]]

Happy voting!

P.S. Only candidates who provided their answers are included in OLCV’s Environmental Voter Guide, and OLCV publishes the candidates answers in their own words.
