John, this autumn is the perfect time to prioritise your wellbeing by joining us for Wellness Month this November. The challenge is simple, take on a wellness activity every day for 30 days while raising vital funds for people living with diabetes.

You could get crafty, read a book that’s been gathering dust on your shelves, enjoy a walk with a friend or try a new yoga class – the options are endless. Your wellness activity might take as little as 15 minutes a day, but you’ll be making a positive impact on your own wellbeing and your fundraising will make a lifetime of difference to people living with diabetes, supporting ground-breaking research, care and advice.

Choose from a huge list of activities, build your own online calendar and track your progress as you go! Are you ready to focus on your wellness?

I want to get involved

Baked oats

Try this breakfast

Looking for a warming breakfast to enjoy on these cold October mornings? This baked oats recipe is a perfect way to start your day. It’s warming, easy to prep and, most importantly, delicious. You can pair the recipe with quark or unsweetened yoghurt for an extra protein and calcium boost and why not add some seasonal fruit to help you get your 5-a-day?

Type 2 voice screening

Currently, blood tests are the only way to diagnose diabetes, but researchers are testing a voice tool to detect type 2 in adults. The tool detects subtle changes in pitch and tone and combines this with other health data to screen for type 2. On a test of 607 adults, the technology showed 71% accuracy in men and 66% accuracy in women.

Best wishes,

Ciara at Diabetes UK

P.S. Don’t forget to save the date, World Diabetes Day is on 14 November. With less than a month to go, keep an eye out for ways you can get involved!
