John, -- My name is Cori Bush. I am a nurse and single-mother of two, running for Missouri’s First Congressional District. Last cycle, our campaign garnered more votes against the incumbent than any challenger and was highlighted in an award-winning Netflix documentary.  

I’ve decided to run for Congress again because the seat has been held by one family for fifty years and our current representative has been absent for almost two decades. Over his term, he has collected over $4 million in PAC donations. Meanwhile, homelessness has increased, our middle class is disappearing, and St. Louis ranks among the 20 worst cities for children living in poverty.

This cycle, we’ve built more momentum and I am reaching out to set up a time to speak with you about my campaign. I hope to personally earn your support.

MEET CORI

Cori Bush first emerged as a community leader and member of the clergy, fighting for marginalized communities.  A single-parent of two, Cori worked in early education for ten years and later achieved her nursing license from Lutheran School of Nursing. She battled poverty, homelessness, sexual assault and domestic violence. Born and raised in St. Louis, she worked at St. Louis University Hospital and directed two community based health centers. She continues to fight for people everyday and hopes to earn every vote in Missouri’s 1st Congressional District.
