In addition to the Religious Opt Out Policy we created in the Spring, we have also provided a template for ACA policy that is both compliant with HB24-1039 and parent-approved. We have enclosed a template policy package and attached instructions in the ACA Policy folder. There is also a video that explains this policy in detail. You can read about those policies and much more detail here.

Pueblo D-60 School Board Member Dennis Maes tells the rest of the Board and audience that parents have no rights.

What is Going on In Pueblo!?
Pueblo D-60 is voting on this item on October 22nd, and they are trending to pass ACA without parental consent. At the last Board meeting on October 5th, Board member Dennis Maes said that parents do not have rights, and only students have rights. Maes said the district should respect students' wishes since minors have rights not extended to their parents. You can reach Dennis Maes at (719) 406-1778.
We need parents and stakeholders to come speak at Pueblo D-60's meeting on October 22nd. The left will be there in droves to stand up for the grooming of children. We must show Pueblo and the legislature that conservative-leaning Colorado school boards will not lie down and take this abuse of parents and children. If you can speak in Pueblo Tuesday night at 5:30 PM, please call Sam Hernandez (719-250-3936) before Monday. Sam will sign you up to speak, as that portion is only done in person. Alternatively, you may contact myself or Stephen Varela.
This conservative-leaning district must be held accountable. Call, email, and social media this Board today and every day until next Tuesday and tell them to do the right thing for kids...ask for parental consent for Policy ACA.

What are Other School Districts Doing?
New Summit, Pueblo D-70, Delta County School District, and Monument Academy, to name a few, have passed ACA with parental consent. Thank you to those Boards for championing parental rights over radical government overreach. Board members like these should be proud of themselves for standing up for our kids, rather than caving like their counterparts.
Montezuma Cortez passed ACA with parental consent this past Monday, but the policy is written poorly and references “dead-naming.” There is no such thing as dead-naming; this is mental illness running rampant with new terms. Please avoid such terms in your school policy.
Manitou School District is set to pass ACA without parental consent. Widefield D-3 recently passed ACA without parental consent, also.
In Academy D-20 in Colorado Springs, a Board brought to us by special interests, we were told that the new board would be super conservative and ready to take down the liberal agenda...not so much. The D-20 Board has opted to continue allowing trans porn books to be checked out by children, and most of the Board is pushing an MLO. Meanwhile, the Board has indicated they will likely not require parental consent in Policy ACA. Call, email, and social media the D-20 Board members, and tell them to do their jobs.
In D-11, also touted as a new Board of hardcore conservatives who will never bend to the left, and brought to us by the same people who ushered in the D-20 Board, the members are currently sitting with the policy they have written, which does not require parental consent. No one can explain why the "conservative" President and members have written a policy straight out of the Union manuals. Please call and email D-11 and tell them to do what they were elected to do...protect kids!

What Can You Do?
We need boards to require parental consent as they pass this policy. We need Republicans to make sure your school district passes the best policy and is held accountable if they do not. We need people to call and email school boards. Thank you for any help you may provide to stand for our kids and our country.
