This evening would have been our Road to Independence Gala. One of our favorite parts of the year is coming together with so many of you, to celebrate the profound impact that Northern Virginia Family Service has on behalf of children and families in need in our community.
Though we can’t be physically together tonight to express our gratitude, please know how much we appreciate your partnership, and our work together to ensure that our neighbors who turn to us in times of need— during this health and economic crisis and beyond— are met with the compassionate, innovative programs for which NVFS is known.
I wanted to share some of the conversation I had with our 2020 Gala Chair, Jen Siciliano from INOVA Health Systems, and Brian Jackson and Casey Veatch from the NVFS Board. We are so fortunate to have Jen and INOVA as partners always, and especially during this time — and we are glad that Brian got a chance to enjoy one of his favorite Gala duties!
We have received overwhelming support from individual donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations as part of the Road to Resilience Campaign that we launched to replace funds lost from the Gala cancellation. While the campaign has been very successful, we are still a long way from meeting the escalating need in our community.
Thank you so much to all who have already given. If you would like to support the campaign and our work during this crisis and beyond, please donate here.
For now, our mission continues. On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, we look forward to next May when we hope to come together to recognize the tremendous effort and compassion that guided us through this crisis and celebrate the resolve and resiliency of the Northern Virginia community.
