October is LGBTQ+ History Month
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has declared October as LGBTQ+ History Month in Los Angeles County. LGBTQ+ History Month is intended to encourage honesty and openness about being LGBTQ+ and to develop a sense of belonging and empowerment for the community. Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month is about recognizing the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to Los Angeles County and to the country.

Don't Miss Opportunity To Adopt A Shelter Dog
In recognition of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, the Department of Animal Care and Control is waiving adoption fees for all dogs from October 15-31, 2024. This will include adoption, spay/neuter, and microchip, but not license or trust fees. If you are a resident of Los Angeles County or a County employee looking for a fury companion, this is the time to adopt a shelter dog. Click here for information.
