It's sad, but some states with big budget shortfalls want to use COVID-19 to get federal taxpayers to bail them out.

This is wrong and it must be stopped.

Please join us in signing the new conservative policy memo calling on Congress to oppose state government bailouts as part of any future legislation dealing with the coronavirus.

Read the memo and add your name.

Liberal states like California, New York, and Illinois have massive budget problems created by their profligate spending.

Rather than addressing these issues with fiscal discipline, they see the COVID-19 crisis as the perfect opportunity to score bailouts that wouldn't have been possible before. 

If they succeed, it will encourage more reckless spending in more states across the country. If states can always go to Congress for more money, why would they ever limit spending?

Please sign the statement urging our leaders in Washington to oppose these misguided bailouts.

State government bailouts reward reckless policies and punish states that have governed responsibly.
