Aloha Members

I am writing to update you on a serious matter regarding a complaint filed with the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission (CSC) by Andrew Walden. In his complaint, Mr. Walden falsely accused the Party, and me specifically, of embezzlement and improper reporting of the funds received from the sale of our headquarters.

I’m pleased to inform you that the CSC unanimously dismissed the case because there was no merit to the accusations, no State laws were violated, and the CSC has no jurisdiction with Federal campaign spending. It was evident to all the commission members that Mr. Walden’s complaint was completely frivolous.

As many of you know, Mr. Walden was removed by the State Committee as the Presidential Caucus Organizer. It appears that his frivolous accusations are a form of retaliation (aka lawfare) against the party following his removal. His intent seems to be to create disruption and sow distrust within our ranks, but rest assured, all necessary records were presented to the CSC, including our Federal reports and filings submitted by Aristotle, for full transparency.

While it is unfortunate that we had to address this groundless complaint, it was important to demonstrate that the Party remains fully compliant with all State and Federal campaign spending laws and regulations.

I will not allow distractions like this to take us away from our core mission. I thank all of you for your ongoing trust and support.

If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Sincerely,

Tamara McKay
