And as Election Day gets closer, I keep thinking about how I want to feel on November 6.

I know I DON’T want to wake up the day after the election thinking I could have done more.

So where am I starting to make sure we do EVERYTHING possible? Outreach.

Change starts with connections to the community. But big politics usually overlooks how important this connection is. Politicians at the top aren’t always thinking about how a lack of public transportation directly affects so many people, or how food deserts are impacting the future of our community.

That’s why I ran for public office: to give a voice to those in North Carolina who haven’t traditionally seen themselves in politics and make these connections. But to continue this outreach we’ve got to mobilize, organize, and TURN OUT, John.
