During last night’s debate, MAGA Senator Ted Cruz refused not once, not twice, but THREE times to say whether or not he supports exceptions to his state’s draconian anti-abortion law for rape, incest, or saving the mother’s life. Instead, all he could manage was “I’m curious, why do you keep asking me that?”

His Democratic challenger, former NFL star Colin Allred, called out Cruz to his face and exposed the appalling reality behind his “pro-life” hypocrisy.”

“It’s not pro-life to deny women care so long that they can’t have children anymore. It’s not pro-life to force a victim of rape to carry their rapists’ baby. It’s not pro-life that our maternal mortality rate has skyrocketed up by 56 percent. So to every Texas woman at home, every Texas family watching this: understand that when Ted Cruz says he’s pro-life, he doesn’t mean yours,” said Allred during last night’s debate.

Elect Colin Allred to the Senate and send Ted Cruz packing!

Allred’s powerful words put this race into stark perspective. The only way to end the nightmare that tens of millions of women in Texas and so many other states have found themselves trapped in by Republican extremism is electing Colin Allred to the US Senate so that he can vote to enshrine the right to an abortion at the national level — which he has already vowed to do if given the opportunity.

We ask this question of Ted Cruz because women’s dignity, their right to make choices for their own bodies, their right to healthcare, their very lives are being denied to them. It has to end.

Colin Allred is neck-and-neck with Cruz in the polls, within striking distance of making history and electing the first Democrat to statewide office in Texas in over three decades.
