Team, I’m Steph — Mad’s daughter-in-law. I started dating her son Pat in the seventh grade, so Mad and I have known each other for two decades. And I love being a part of this family.

Today, I wanted to tell you my story and lay out the stakes of this election in hopes that you’ll help my mother-in-law Mad in her work to make sure everyone has the same freedom I did. [[link removed]]

For the last two years, Pat and I have been struggling to give our daughter a sibling. Our infertility journey has seen us through two failed IUI’s, two IVF egg retrievals, a failed embryo transfer, and two miscarriages — I wouldn’t wish this process on anyone.

But after two years of heartache, our second IVF embryo transfer was successful. God willing, we will soon have a second child to welcome into this world this Spring, and I am so grateful that the procedure was available to us.

Our story is similar to so many families struggling with infertility. In 2024, we should be ending the stigma and fighting to expand resources for women and same-sex couples hoping to build a family. Democrats like Mad understand this, and it’s why they’ve tried twice now to pass a bill protecting procedures like IVF.

And yet Donald Trump, JD Vance, and the Republican Party are hell-bent on restricting access to our own healthcare options. The GOP is trying to make my infertility and that of millions of women their business. They’re increasing the stigma, making us feel even more alone, and attacking our treatments and reproductive rights. And they’re doing it all for control.

But Mad is out on the trail and in Congress pushing for expanded resources and funding for IVF treatment with her fellow Democrats. She’s working for more accessible healthcare. She’s standing up for you and me. Always.

So with only three weeks left until Election Day, I’m here to ask you if you’ll join me and support Mad as her campaign kicks into GOTV in her critical battleground district. [[link removed]]

I am so proud to support Mad – not just because she’s my mother-in-law, but because she is a fearless leader who fights for everyone in her district. She is always working for solutions for you and your family while simultaneously checking in with our own. Mad fights for the family struggling to conceive, she fights for the family struggling with addiction, she fights for the family struggling to make ends meet, and she fights for Republicans, Democrats, and everyone in between.

She fights for you, let’s fight for her. [[link removed]]

Thanks for letting me share my story. And remember to never lose hope,

Steph
