Note From the Chair

Hey folks! Rita Hart here.

Today is the first day Iowans can vote early in the 2024 election. You can vote early at your local county auditor’s office through November 4th during regular business hours. Some counties offer early satellite voting locations so you don’t have to drive as far to cast your ballot. Be sure to bring a valid form of ID with you to cast your vote.

While the easiest way to vote early this election cycle is by going to your county auditor and voting in person, you can also request your absentee ballot by clicking here. Absentee ballots need to be returned in the mail by no later October 25. Absentee ballots should be delivered by hand to your county auditor after October 25 to ensure that it is counted.

To make your plan to vote, visit iowademocrats.org/planyourvote. For more information, visit iwillvote.com/ia.

Sincerely,

Rita Hart

Vote Early - In Three Easy Steps

Early voting starts today, so now’s the time to head to the polls and make your voice heard! If you want to request an absentee ballot, but haven’t yet; don’t panic. We here at IDP have compiled an easy-to-understand list of how you can vote early and in person today:

  • Use this link and find your County Auditor’s Office County Auditor List (iowa.gov). It will include your Office’s address, phone number, and other relevant contact information.
  • All Auditor’s Offices serve as early voting stations, so if yours is nearby you can go there to cast your ballot. If it’s a bit of a drive you can call your Office to see if they’ve set up any early voting stations closer to where you live. If you’d prefer not to call, you can use this link to find your polling place as well: I Will Vote (though remember to look under the ‘Early Vote’ tab to get the correct locations)
  • Travel to your polling location of choice, and make your voice heard!

After that you’re finished. You’ve cast your vote, and assisted our democracy once again. Now all that’s left is to collect your sticker!
