to Officer Daniel Sanchez is a complete travesty of justice.



Daniel did everything right. He followed his training. He answered the call to

9-1-1 call. A gunman was standing on a porch, firing into a house. Two shots
had already been fired when Daniel arrived.

The suspect — armed with an AR-15-style rifle — posed an immediate threat to
the lives of everyone in that neighborhood.



Daniel shouted for the man to drop his weapon. But when the gunman ignored
him, Daniel had no choice. He had to act. In that moment, Daniel Sanchez did
what any officer would have done — he protected innocent lives by taking down
the threat.



Now, instead of being praised for his bravery, Officer Sanchez is being hunted
by Travis County District Attorney José Garza, a man determined to make an
example out of good officers like Daniel. Garza convened a grand jury, and now
Daniel is facing a third-degree felony charge. If convicted, he’ll be sent to
prison for a decade — alongside the very criminals he helped lock up!



This is outrageous. Officer Sanchez’s actions were completely justified. His
own department, the Austin Police, backs him up 100%. But that’s not stopping
this politically-motivated prosecutor from trying to ruin his life.



Let me be clear — this isn’t just an attack on Daniel Sanchez. This is an
attack on every officer who puts their life on the line to protect their
community. If they can railroad Daniel for doing his job, what message does
that send to every other cop out there?



Daniel needs our help, and he needs it NOW. The legal battle ahead is going to
be brutal. His future hangs in the balance. His family’s future hangs in the
balance. And we cannot let this injustice stand.



My friends at the National Center for Police Defense (NCPD) is committed to
