Greetings from Leg 3 of the Nuns on the Bus & Friends “Vote Our Future” tour. This has been an incredible journey so far!
On Sunday, October 13, we launched our leg of the tour and traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border at Nogales, AZ, where the Kino Border Initiative led us on a tour, followed by a press conference. Later that day, the Bus stopped in Phoenix at La Flor de Michoacan, an ice cream shop where the owner prides herself on bringing “a little of home” to her Latino neighbors. We got to visit with members of the community and heard from Alicia Contreras Alas, an organizer with Corazon Arizona, a multi-racial, multi-faith and multigenerational organization.
