Fellow Kansan,

Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! This week, I am spending time with Kansans in Ellis, Reno, and Sedgwick counties. Follow me on social media to see more of my work across the Big First this week.

I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That's what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come.

Yours in service,

In the District

Kansas Bankers Association

Last week, I spent time at Kansas Bankers Association's annual Young Bank Officers of Kansas Conference. During the conference, I shared an update on my work in Congress including my legislation to stop the federal government from seizing private land and my efforts to get a Farm Bill passed sooner rather than later. Creating a nation with a strong economy takes a partnership of individuals like the Young Bank Officers of Kansas alongside state, federal, and local officials. Together, we can ensure that we have policies that will allow the economy, small businesses, and families to thrive. I will continue to fight for these policies in Washington, D.C. and advocate for strong local banks and small businesses.

Kearny County Hospital

The Big First has more critical access hospitals than any other Congressional district in the country. Critical access hospitals and 340-B programs are essential safety nets that provide health care options for rural communities while keeping costs down. All Kansans should have access to affordable, quality, and accessible health care, and I am committed to ensuring flexibility in the health care system so that Kansans can receive the care that they deserve. Thank you, Kearny County Hospital for your hard work and dedication in serving your community.

Kearny County Airport

Kansas is one of the leaders for aviation in the nation. Regional airports like Kearny County Airport are vital to local economies and communities. While there, I saw the new developments Kearny County Airport is making including plans to construct a new runway and to expand their role in assisting with medical care across the county. Last week, I gathered leaders in the Kansas aviation industry to discuss the future of the industry and the importance of making sure airports like the one in Kearny has support from the federal government. Thank you, Kearny Country Airport for your contributions to Kansas's aviation industry.

If you, or a student you know, are interested in applying for an internship in my Washington, D.C., Manhattan, or Dodge City offices, please click the link below to learn more and apply.

The last day to submit all required application materials is Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:59 PM CDT.
