Opinion: A Bipartisan Plan to Support State Budgets
By Bill Galston, No Labels Co-Founder

"The Problem Solvers proposal would cost $500 billion, half of Pelosi’s favored sum. As the Senate returned to Washington this week, the debate over aid to state and local governments heated up. Although many Republicans are loath to fund what they see as a blue-state bailout, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s suggestion that hard-pressed states should consider bankruptcy was poorly received on both sides of the aisle."

New Episode of the No Labels Podcast Gridlock Break

On Friday’s episode, Dr. Mickey Levy and Dr. Robert Kaplan discuss their Wall Street Journal OpEd, “How to Get America Working Again”, and what methods the federal and state governments should employ to reopen the economy. Drs. Kaplan and Levy argue that the first step that should be taken by the federal government is ramping up the availability of COVID testing and utilizing contact tracing to get a better sense of who should go back to work.

We want to hear from you.
Do you think Congress should allocate aid money to state and local governments to maintain basic services and assist in their economic recovery?
