When I’m talking about supporting causes and organizations, I often say that I would never ask anyone else to invest in something that I’m not investing in myself.
The same is true for my own re-election campaign.
I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to provide support to my own campaign. I’m grateful for that because it allows me to focus on the work that really matters – on legislating and building relationships in my community – instead of just trying to keep our budget afloat.
And there’s plenty of work to be done – I have an amazing staff on the ground that organizes volunteers and activists to get involved in the election; I work hard to be as involved in my community as I possibly can, even when commuting to D.C. for votes and legislative work; and I’m passionate about supporting my fellow Democrats up and down the ballot in California and running in competitive House races around the country.
But the reality is that I can’t do 100% of it on my own. I’m grateful to be able to invest in my own work, and I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished this election cycle. And in this final stretch, I’m asking you to join me and help push us through the finish line to a strong victory.
