In the minds of Republican Party leaders, the easier it is for everyone to vote, the harder it will be for them to win. They know their agenda is deeply unpopular — but far too often, unfair maps have given them a free pass. That's where we come in. The NDRC is fighting tooth and nail to protect and defend fair maps against MAGA Republicans’ ongoing campaign to undermine our democracy. From now until Election Day — and beyond — we will continue pushing for redistricting reforms, challenging unfair maps, and building support for sworn Democracy Defenders in crucial state races. Republicans know diluting our political power is their only path to maintaining their own. That's why they use partisan and racial gerrymandering and why they've been passing voter suppression bills across the country. We’re up against forces that are willing to cheat to maintain majority rule even when they only have minority support from the people. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: When the maps are fair, Democrats do just fine. So if we want to protect democracy, we have to do democracy, in every sense.
