During the first City Council meeting of the fall, I was proud to introduce legislation that helps us take a crucial step towards making Philadelphia’s streets safer for everyone — including bikers.

Stiffer penalties for blocking bike lanes are necessary if we want to protect cyclists and pedestrians, reduce accidents, and ensure everyone who shares our streets can do so safely.

That’s why my legislation aims to increase fines for parking or stopping in bike lanes, and calls for changes to the signs along bike lanes to clearly enforce the no-stopping rule.

But I can’t make this happen alone. Can you pitch in $10 or whatever you can to make sure I have the support I need to continue pushing for policies that will improve the quality of life for all Philadelphians?
