Herbert,
Growing up in Eastern Baltimore County, the values of working hard and giving back to my community were instilled in me from a very young age. I became the first in my family to graduate college and then became a public school teacher. As an American Government educator, I taught my students that no matter where you come from, your voice matters.
During my time in the state legislature and serving as Baltimore County Executive, I’ve had the privilege to work alongside so many of you to raise the minimum wage to $15 for hard-working families, to close an $81 million budget deficit, to improve government efficiency and transparency, and strengthen community relationships with law enforcement to keep our communities safe.
It has been an honor to serve our community and effectively solve issues through listening and collaborating with our neighbors.
This is what governance should be about – open, accountable, and prioritizing the people's needs. One that listens to everyday people who are an essential part of our democracy.
Now, I’m ready to lead in Washington and put people over politics to deliver progress on issues that matter most to our communities. Too often, self-interest, special interests, and partisan politics get in the way of progress. But my priorities are clear.
With just three weeks until Election Day, voters across Maryland are casting their ballots. I need your help to ensure we have the resources to share our vision with as many voters as we can in this final stretch. That’s why I’m asking for your support – Will you contribute $5, $10 or whatever you can today to help me win?
