Yesterday, we announced the launch of RFS Ascend and our merger with Ascend PAC, an organization that has focused on building the bench of Democratic leaders exclusively by providing direct financial support to candidates.
Our first new order of business? Raising $25,000 to support our program and candidates in key states where we have a chance of flipping the legislature, starting with Texas and Pennsylvania.
We only need to flip nine seats in the Pennsylvania State House, four in the Pennsylvania State Senate, and nine in the Texas State House to give millions of Pennsylvanians and Texans a chance to be governed by smart, passionate, young progressives -- and we're seeing right now exactly how much it matters who runs your community. Our candidates are ready to work as hard as they can between now and their election days, but they need the support of our team and our program.
