John, my name is Anderson, and I’m writing to you from Haiti, where I’ve spent two decades working to support children and families in crisis. I’ve seen firsthand how devastating hunger can be for kids, and right now, 153 million children are facing food insecurity – including 3-year-old Roodley and 2-year-old Dadensley.
Living in a seaside town in Haiti, Roodley and Dadensley’s parents rely on fishing to feed their family. Because of this, the weather has a huge impact on their ability to provide food – and when the weather is bad, their family is forced to go hungry. This lack of nutritious food has caused Roodley and Dadensley to become weak and sick with malnutrition – something no child should have to face.
As someone who’s worked in Haiti through the 2010 and 2021 earthquakes, I’ve witnessed how this team’s support can make a difference in children’s lives. By working together, we can provide families like Roodley and Dadensley’s with the food, monetary support and supplies they need to overcome hunger – because we believe in a future where no child has to go to bed hungry.
