Dear Friend,
 
This week marks 80 years since the Liberal Party of Australia was formed. 
 
In that time, our Party has a very proud record of driving Australia’s economic and social progress. 
 
For example, between 1949 and 1972, Australia’s economy tripled in size, while millions of Australians became home owners. 
 
Coalition governments have consistently delivered economic strength and stability, including more jobs, responsible financial management, tax relief and reform and better services. 
 
Australia’s most important security relationship was cemented in 1951 with the ANZUS Treaty. Seventy years later, this was built upon with the landmark AUKUS agreement. 
 
It was the Liberal Party that dismantled the White Australia policy. Our Party provided freedom of parental choice in education through the delivery of state aid to independent schools. It has also led the way in developing trade. 
 
From establishing Kakadu National Park and declaring the first section of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, to practical grassroots initiatives, we have a strong record of environmental protection.

For 80 years, the Liberal Party has tackled the challenges of our time, while defending institutions that have stood the test of time. 

Recently, this has been demonstrated by the parliamentary team led by Peter Dutton. 

For example, last year the Liberal Party led a strong defence of Australia’s Constitution during a divisive referendum. 
 
This year, it put forward a bold policy to advance nuclear energy, which is critical for Australia’s future energy security. 
 
The next election will be tough, but Labor has a fight on its hands. 
 
Australia needs a Coalition Government to provide competent economic management and tackle the big challenges facing our country, including housing, energy and national security. 
 
Peter Dutton was a great minister and he has led the Liberal Party with distinction. Like you, I will do everything I can to support him and the Liberal team. 
 
Ours is a great cause. Unlike our opponents, the Liberal Party is not beholden to any sectional interest. We represent all Australians. 
 
With your support, our Party will continue doing what’s in our national interest and delivering for all Australians.
