**Anti-Immigrant Rhetoric May Repel Voters**

**??**

**WASHINGTON, D.C.** - Recent polling and past elections indicate that voters, on the whole, are looking for immigration solutions - not demonizing rhetoric [link removed].

In a National Immigration Forum and Bullfinch Group survey in August [link removed], 67% of registered-voter respondents said they'd prefer a candidate who offers immigration solutions, vs. 18% who said they'd prefer a candidate who uses dehumanizing language. The remaining 15% said they were unsure.

Self-identified Republican voters preferred the "solutions" candidate by a 16-point margin.

"Donald Trump and JD Vance's rhetoric is disappointing, far from what American voters want and might fail them politically," said

**Jennie Murray, President and CEO of the National Immigration Forum Action Fund**. "In many places, such rhetoric did not bring victory in the 2022 midterms, and recent poll results reinforce voters' desire for solutions and a more reasonable conversation.

"Most Americans recognize that such rhetoric disrespects the God-given human dignity of human beings and can be dangerous [link removed]. We need to live up to our principles [link removed] and values, starting with the sanctity of every human life."
