Last week, we went to the courts and showed up for DACA.
Dear John,
Last week, I went to New Orleans to hear the oral arguments for DACA at the 5th Circuit Court, along with 300 others to urge the court to protect DACA.
The 5th Circuit Court has ruled DACA unlawful before, but the fight to preserve the DACA program and establish a permanent solution for all undocumented immigrants is far from over. A final decision is yet to be made, but we have proven time and time again — including last week — that our community is prepared to persist through this ongoing legal battle.

While we are still awaiting a decision from the 5th Circuit, here are some ways you can engage with and show support for the undocumented community:

The current ruling remains standing. New applications for DACA will not be processed, but we encourage you to continue renewing your DACA, especially if it expires within the next 150 days.
Regardless of this hearing’s outcome, I know the immigrant community has my back, along with other DACA recipients, families, and undocumented people whose futures are at stake. We will always find ways to thrive together.
Rising Together,
Denea Joseph
