Hello there,

Noting that it “would be terrible for the world,” Melinda Gates said that Trump’s refusal to cooperate with international counterparts on a vaccine effort may result in a situation where impoverished countries must fend for themselves -- and where tools like vaccines “go to the highest bidder.”

The United States has chosen not to attend the European Union’s summit to pledge global unity behind finding a pandemic cure. Instead, according to senior German officials, Trump attempted to buy out a German firm working on a vaccine so that the cure would only belong to America.

Now Trump has nothing to show for it, except a soured relationship with one of our close allies. While some diplomats are holding out hope that the U.S. will one day be a global leader again, others are counting on a new president for that to happen. Since it’s America’s reputation on the line, we want to know what you think:

Should America join with other countries in solving the global health crisis?

YES   NO
