Dear John, We’re thrilled to share our 2024 State of Representation report, a critical inside look at the progress New Americans have made in state legislatures since 2022! The past 2 years have ushered in a dynamic transformation that signals a broader shift towards a more inclusive democracy. In 2022, there were 296 New American legislators serving across the nation. By 2024, this number had climbed to 361—a significant 21.96% increase. This is a powerful testament to the vital role New Americans play in shaping policy and advocating for diverse communities.
