Will you help chickens like Freddy?
My name is Freddy. If I hadn't been born into the animal agriculture industry, I would've enjoyed fresh air and the grass between my toes, shared strong and unique bonds with those around me, and lived a long, happy life. Just like your canine and feline family members, I feel joy, and I also feel pain. But to the people who raise and slaughter us, I'm just one of the nine billion chickens bred and killed each year in the U.S. for the meat industry. But if you could see me, you would understand that my life is important, just like yours is.

I was born into a world where my fate was sealed from the start. I was bred to grow quickly—so quickly that my body became too large for my legs to support. At just six weeks old, I was already facing the end of my short life, but those six weeks were filled with more pain and suffering than I could ever describe.

I lived in a place where the ground was muddy and the air was stiflingly hot, often over 100 degrees. I watched as workers threw some of us roughly into cages, kicked us, and ran over others with forklifts. I saw dead chickens discarded in piles, covered in maggots. Our wings, legs, and heads would get stuck in the cages, and the pain was unbearable. The people who handled us showed no kindness, and even the supervisors treated us with the same cruelty.
Left: Hundreds of chickens covered in mud due to poor conditions at a Foster Farms grower facility
Right: A chicken with their head trapped in a transport crate
This is not just my story—it’s the story of countless chickens who have lived and died in facilities like Foster Farms. The cruelty we endure is not an accident; it’s a part of the system. This is why Animal Outlook has taken the footage of our suffering to the Fresno County District Attorney's office, asking them to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. They must be made to see that we are individuals who can suffer and be the victims of cruelty and killing, too.

It’s too late to save me, but you can make a difference for the countless others who will be forced to follow in my footsteps. You can refuse to support the cruelty we face every day. By choosing not to eat animals like me and by educating others to do the same, you can help end this suffering. The people who profit from our pain don’t care about us, but you can be our hero by taking a stand.

Animal Outlook is doing everything it can to help us, but they can’t do it without your help. Your donation will help them continue to uncover the truth and fight for a world where animals like me are treated with the kindness and respect we deserve.

Will you help billions of chickens like me?
Thank you for hearing my story and for standing up for the billions of others who are the victims of the animal agriculture industry.

With hope,

Freddy
