Citizens' Climate featured in new documentary about Yellowstone National
Park
CCL is featured in a new mini documentary from the Paramount Network.
The video, about 12 minutes long, features CCL volunteer Charley Able
from Bozeman, Montana, alongside actor Ian Bohen, who stars in the
Paramount series "Yellowstone." The video sends viewers to Citizens'
Climate as a way to get involved to address climate change and talk to
legislators.

In the wake of the El Paso tragedy
CCL's mission to preserve a livable world for all took on a more
expansive meaning for Spanish-speaking people in the wake of the El Paso
tragedy. CCL Diversity Coordinator for Latino Communities Karina Ramirez
reflects:
"I, like many of the members of Citizens' Climate Lobby, believe in our
goal to have a "clima vivible," or a "livable world" for all. And often,
we might feel like it is impossible. How can I concentrate on climate
solutions (or at all?) when I just learned someone drove 10 hours to
kill people who were going about their lives? Someone drove with the
full intention to kill someone like me."

Save the date for November Lobby Day
As we have done for a number of years now, CCL will bring hundreds of
volunteers to Washington, D.C., for our November Lobby Day (Nov. 11-12).
Registration opens on Sept. 3. Momentum is picking up for carbon pricing
on Capitol Hill, and the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act is
leading the way with 59 House members now signed on. We'll be looking to
move this breakthrough legislation forward in November. Make plans to
join us!
Make a gift of stock
Your time, your passion, and your advocacy are investments with a
massive future dividend: a more livable climate.
If you want to invest more, you may consider making a gift of stock to
support Citizens' Climate Education (CCE)
[link removed]
or Citizens' Climate Lobby (CCL)
[link removed]
. Such a gift makes meaningful use of your patience and foresight,
allowing you to offer an appreciated sum that may be substantially
higher than your initial investment.
Giving appreciated stock that you have owned for more than a year also
provides greater tax benefits than donating cash. Gifts of stock to CCE,
a 501(c)(3) organization, avoid capital gains tax and provide a tax
deduction as a charitable contribution. Gifts to CCL, a 501(c)(4)
organization, are not tax-deductible but still avoid capital gains
taxes. In both cases, transferring ownership rather than selling the
stock may help you save by avoiding brokerage fees.
As every financial situation is different, we recommend consulting a
financial advisor about the specific terms surrounding your gift. For
more information, please contact Senior Development Director Lynate
Pettengill at
[email protected] or 785-331-5556.
Thank you for considering this opportunity and for your commitment to a
healthy climate!
