Every day, we read stories about efforts to undermine elections. We’ve seen threats of violence against election workers, misinformation and intentional efforts to deceive voters, and states passing laws that make it harder for people to vote.

Here in Oregon, my race for Secretary of State offers perhaps the clearest contrast between candidates in the country.

My opponent proudly proclaimed his loyalty to Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. He even brought a lawsuit that went all the way to the Supreme Court (before they threw it out), seeking to end our secure vote-by-mail system here in Oregon.

I can’t sit by and watch as my extremist opponent tries to hijack our elections and undermine our democracy. But my race is coming down to the wire and I can’t stop him alone — which is why I’m reaching out to you today.
