I know we’ve sent a few emails about our next – and final – FEC deadline before the election, and I’m sure you’re wondering why we have yet another deadline coming up so soon after our last deadline a couple of weeks ago.

So before I ask you to chip in to help us reach our $75,000 goal, I thought I’d fill you in on exactly what this deadline is and why it’s such a big deal.

After every fundraising quarter, the Federal Election Commission requires campaigns to publicly report how much money they’ve raised. A few weeks ago, we faced our quarterly fundraising deadline and reported our final totals.

But there’s one more deadline, and it’s called the “Pre-General” deadline. This is the last report we have to file with the FEC before the election, and it’s our biggest one to date. This is the last chance to show folks the strength of our grassroots team, and with just a few weeks until Election Day, every dollar counts.

John, with this in mind, can I count on you to contribute $5 or whatever you can today to help us reach our $75,000 goal before our final FEC deadline on Wednesday?
