In 2009, I was selected by President Obama to help lead NASA as the Chief of Staff. It was an honor to work alongside him.
Working at NASA was nothing like the chaos we’re witnessing in Congress today. At NASA, we put petty politics and self-interest aside to solve problems for the American people. We left our differences at the door and banded together to leave our work better than we found it.
We’re sorely missing that selfless spirit in Congress, and Mike Garcia is one of the worst offenders.
He places his own interests ahead of our community, and would rather stick with the far-right reaches of his own party instead of working toward bipartisan solutions that would benefit us all.
The proof isn’t hard to see. His support for a national abortion ban, shady stock dealings lining his own pockets, vote to decertify the 2020 election results, the list goes on.
Voters see it, too. He’s one of the most vulnerable members of Congress, and polls show we have a narrow lead going into the final push before Election Day.
