Patriot,
Argentina and Venezuela used to be both rich and free until socialists slowly
but surely destroyed their economies. But last year, Argentinians were able to
elect Javier Milei while Venezuelans remain under the iron fist rule of Nicolas
Maduro.
Milei has drastically cut government spending and repealed regulations.
Maduro imprisons his opponents and takes over private businesses.
Unsurprisingly, the two countries are now on opposite trajectories...
Inflation is falling in Argentina and the economy has begun to boom in less
than a year of free market reforms. Venezuela continues to expel thousands of
refugees every day. This is the stark difference between freedom and socialism.
I’m Daniel Di Martino, the founder of the Dissident Project. At the Dissident
Project, we are sharing these stories to remind American high school students
of the importance of liberty and to warn them about the dangers of following
the same path Venezuela did.
You can help us share our experiences with the problems caused by socialism
and authoritarianism and prevent them from gaining ground in the United States
by donating today.

As a Venezuelan who witnessed my homeland’s collapse under socialism, I know
firsthand the devastation it brings.
Even two decades after taking over, Venezuela’s socialist dictatorship
continues to stifle freedom, destroy wealth, and force millions of people to
flee in search of basic necessities.
The average Venezuelan can't last a few days without working, or there will
be no food on their table, so they can't resist. Meanwhile, south in Argentina,
the rise of liberty-loving leaders like Javier Milei are offering hope to their
country that Venezuelans can only remember.
It’s important for high school students to learn that freedom and socialism
aren’t compatible, and how the ideas we support today can affect the next few
decades, for better or worse.
The Dissident Project allows speakers like me, who fled socialist and other
authoritarian countries, to share our experiences with high school students
across the country.
Your generous donation helps Dissident Project speakers afford to travel, set
the record straight, and help students gain a new appreciation for the freedom
we have in this country. Click below to donate.
