John,

We honor this Indigenous Peoples' Day with our Indigenous Emerge alums, including the FIRST Indigenous White House Cabinet Member, Deb Haaland. As the Secretary of Interior, Haaland has made history and ever-important changes in our country. Notably, she approved the new constitution of the Cherokee Nation with protections for Cherokee Freedmen and announced the creation of the Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative. Thank you, Secretary Haaland!

This Indigenous Peoples' Day, we’re proud to celebrate all that Secretary Haaland and Indigenous women across the nation have accomplished! Representation has never been more important in our democracy, especially with a historic number of Indigenous women serving in public office. But there’s still work to be done to build equity.

At Emerge, we’re committed to seeing more Indigenous women represented at every level of government. That’s why we’re asking for your support. Will you contribute $25 or more in honor of Secretary Deb Haaland and help us recruit and train even more Indigenous women across the country?
