Friend,
For thousands of years, Native Americans built their own thriving and diverse cultures in North America, stewarding land, language, knowledge, and tradition for generations.
Today, we honor the strength and resilience of Indigenous people over centuries of adversity and recommit to our nation’s most inalienable belief: the promise of equity and opportunity for all.
Over the last few years, Senate Democrats have worked with Washington Tribes to make change that benefits us all. In 2022, we established the 988 behavioral health crisis hotline and a Native American apprenticeship assistance program. In 2021, we passed the Climate Commitment Act, now threatened by Initiative 2117, which protects salmon habitats, preserves our clean air, and more.
We have work left to do, but we’re grateful for your support as we continue to honor and work with our Indigenous allies today and every day.
