I never grew up thinking that one day I would run for office in America, but here we are.

I immigrated to this country when I was just four years old. My family and I escaped Vietnam after my father was put on a kill list by the Communist Party.

We started a new life in America, and I learned how amazing this country is. We had freedoms and opportunities we previously couldn’t have even dreamed of.

I owe my life to America - and that’s why I served for 25 years in combat as a Navy Captain to repay my duty to this country.

When I finally retired from service, I planned to settle into a quiet life with my family here in Virginia.

But then, everything changed.

I saw what Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were doing to our great country, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of the horrors my family left in Vietnam so many years ago.

Biden and Kamala were marching us down the dangerous path of socialism, and I had to do something about it.

That’s why I stepped up and decided to run for office.

The career politicians in Washington DC have let us down, and it’s time for leadership that truly understands what it’s like to serve.
