It's time to take this campaign to the next level

When Keir Starmer became Prime Minister, we challenged him to issue a clear signal - within his first 100 days in office - that he would fix our dysfunctional democracy by implementing Proportional Representation (PR).

60,000 of you supported that call but, unfortunately, by close of play yesterday (Starmer’s 100th day in office), he had chosen not to do so.

That’s disappointing…but we’re not giving up!

In fact, we anticipated this response, and we’ve been preparing for it. Here’s what we’ve been doing behind the scenes:
* We’ve recently recruited a new Head of Strategy & Campaigns to strengthen our campaigning efforts.
* We’ve launched a new (free) Substack channel, Ugly Politix, enabling us to get our messages out to a wider audience.
* With our friends in Fair Vote UK, we’ve established a new All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Fair Elections, bringing together MPs and peers from all major parties to replace First Past the Post, eliminate ‘dark money’ from politics, and combat disinformation in public discourse.
* And we’ve continued to play a central role in building the new National Coalition for PR, uniting organisations and campaigners across the democracy sector in a co-ordinated push for reform.

In short, we’ve been making sure we’re ready for the long battle ahead…and ensuring that our work can continue without missing a beat.
