“What are we going to do?”
Friends, that was the question I asked myself in 2022 as I watched extreme and singularly minded candidates sweep into power on school boards nationwide. They rolled back protections for LGBTQ+ students that I, and others, fought so hard to put into place.
In 2023, the School Board Integrity Project was created to answer this question and meet this important moment. We must fight back and stop takeover of our school boards.
Students across the state and nation are counting on us to protect their freedom to learn, to keep their science classes teaching science, to keep their history classes teaching history, and to ensure that all students can learn free from the threat of discrimination and harassment.
