I hope you saw the reporting from Bob Woodward's latest book, where retired Army General Mark Milley called Donald Trump a “fascist to the core.”

This man is no stranger to Trump. General Milley was appointed by Trump, personally, as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

For a four-star Army General to use General Milley’s language is extraordinary. Words like “fascist” aren't tossed around lightly in the military, especially from top-ranking Generals.

We're all acutely aware of those who came before us and fought World War II to stop the march of fascism. We know the horrors of fascism and what it unleashes on innocent people. We know how it kills democracies, like the one we swear to defend from all enemies, foreign and domestic.

We are not ones to toss the word “fascist” around mindlessly. When we do so, it is only after very careful consideration, and only in the most urgent of circumstances.

In just over 20 days, the American voters will have to make a very serious decision, if they have not already done so. Voters are going to either stop Trump once and for all, or help him usher in a new era of American fascism.
